I started off by drawing out diagonal lines across the entire A2 panel. I measured the space required for the “Happy” stamp from Altenew’s Birthday Builder stamp set to ensure even spacing for the rows.

Using Altenew’s Turquoise Crisp Dye Ink and my Simon Says Stamp acrylic block to repeatedly stamp a clean “Happy” to cover the panel.

Then I grabbed  a scrap of Simon Says Stamp’s Black Cardstock, and prepped it using an anti-static powder bag. Then I heat embossed “happy birthday” using Brutus Monroe’s Gilded embossing powder and Versamark Ink. psx_20200224_2223503865008071884064693.jpg

Then I grabbed Altenew’s Leaf Canopy stamp set and used the large filled leaf set to heat emboss the image onto a panel of Neenah Solar White Cardstock using Brutus Monroe’s Gilded embossing powder. At this point, you could do a second layer of embossing powder, which would make the image much smoother (and in retrospect, I should’ve done that for a more solid look). psx_20200224_2224136367393842161342987.jpg

I cut a panel of Simon Says Stamp’s Black Cardstock to approximately 4×5.25 inches, then backed it with a panel of craft foam measuring approximately 3.75×5 inches. Then I adhered it to an A2 card base of Neenah Solar White cardstock. I trimmed down my  stamped panel to approximately 3.75×5 inches and adhered it to my cardbase. Then I fussy cut my gold embossed leaf image and popped it up onto my stamped panel using some foam squares. I also trimmed down my sentiment strip and backed it with a strip of Simon Says Stamp’s Big Momma foam tape and adhered it to the bottom right corner of my card front. psx_20200224_2225063111077131130847747.jpg

Voila! A simple, yet sophisticated masculine appropriate birthday card.
