Check out my DT entry for this month’s challenge:

I wanted to create something simple, but cute. I started off with the multi heart stamp from Concord & 9TH’s ‘Little Love Tags’ stamp and die set. I love the look of these hearts and it’s perfect to create a patterned background. I started off with Catherine Pooler’s Dye Ink in Rockin’ Red.

I stamped the Red across the entire bottom of the panel.

Then I grabbed Catherine Pooler’s Polished Dye Ink and created a second row of hearts. This stamp lines up perfectly as long as you take a little time to make sure you’re lining it up. I prefer to stand so I get a nice full view when lining up my stamps. I then grabbed “It’s a Girl” ink from Catherine Pooler and did a third row, making sure the hearts lined up properly.

I finished off the top of the panel with “Party Dress” ink from Catherine Pooler, completing my patterned background.

I trimmed the panel down to approximately 4×5.25 inches. Then I took the large heart die from the same Concord and 9th stamp and die set and lined it up in the center of my panel and ran it through my die cutting machine. I also cut out the same hearts from some scrap cardstock – twice from Neenah Solar White Cardstock and once from Simon Says Stamp’s schoolhouse red cardstock.

To add a bit of pizzazz to my panel, I ran my Versamark ink pad all along the edges of my panel and sprinkled Brutus Monroe’s Gilded Embossing powder and heat embossed it. This gives an organic gold border around the panel – a technique I’ve always wanted to try, but never found the right piece to do it with…until now!

I then cut a piece of craft foam measuring approximately 3.75×5 inches and adhered it to the back of my panel. Then I used some liquid glue to adhere everything to an A2 cardbase of Neenah Solar White Cardstock.

I also stamped “Love and Hugs” from the stamp set inside of the Schoolhouse red heart using Versamark ink and heat embossed using more of the Brutus Monroe Gilded embossing powder. Then I stacked the two white hearts and then added the Red heart on top. Then I placed the stacked hearts into the previously cut out heart opening in the panel.

Then I grabbed a piece of scrap Simon Says Stamp’s Black cardstock and heat embossed “XOXOXO” sentiment from the stamp set using Brutus Monroe’s Alabaster White embossing powder. I trimmed down the sentiment strip and adhered it to the panel using Simon Says Stamp’s Big Mamma foam tape.

I wanted to add a bit more shimmer, so I grabbed Tonic’s Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen in Midas Touch and coloured in random hearts all over the panel. Then I used Gina K. Design’s Crystalline Drops over top to add some clear dimension.

Voila! A cute, and simple LOVE card. This could be for Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, Birthday even! Thanks for checking out my blog and I hope to see you enter this month’s Challenge!
