Papercraft Challenge #25: ‘Anything Goes! ‘ – (January 2020)

A new month means a new challenge from Papercraft Challenges!

The theme for the month of January is ‘Anything Goes!’.

For this month’s challenge I opted to submit a Simple watercolour piece that I made as a masculine Christmas card.

I started off with Altenew’s Modern Poinsettia Stamp set. I prepped a piece of Simon Says Stamp’s Vellum with my Anti-Static Powder Bag and then used Tsukineko’s Versamark Ink to stamp the poinsettia image on the vellum using my MISTI. Then I used Brutus Monroe’s Sterling Embossing powder to heat emboss the image in a beautiful silver. The I fussy cut out the poinsettia and set it aside.

Next I grabbed my Altenew’s Metallic Watercolor Set and picked out the garnet paint. I love the look of this paint on black cardstock. So I grabbed an A2 sized panel of Black Bristol paper from Bee Paper for my main panel.

I took a 1 inch wide paintbrush from Royal and Lagnickel and spread the Garnet Metallic paint across the panel diagonally.

I dry fitted the vellum poinsettia to see where I wanted to place my sentiment.

I stamped Happy Holidays on a small strip of Simon Says Stamp’s Fog Cardstock, then backed it with a narrower strip of Simon Says Stamp’s Glitter Cardstock.

I then adhered the sentiment to the bottom right corner of the watercolour panel and the vellum poinsettia in the upper left corner.

Wanting a bit of bling, I added a few gems on the sentiment strip as well as to the center of the poinsettia. Then I adhered my panel to an A2 Card base of Neenah Solar White cardstock.
