Feeling a bit patriotic today… Happy Canada Day to everyone celebrating. For those south of the border July 4th is right around the corner so enjoy!
I’m celebrating this year with a couple of simple cards.
The first card is reminiscent of the Canadian flag, just a little more on the artsy side.
I prepped a 4.25″x5.5″ (A2 size) panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock with an anti-static powder bag. Then I centered the Maple Leaf stamp from Simon Says Stamp’s (SSS) Fractile leaf stamp set. I stamped the image twice using Versamark Ink in my MISTI Stamping tool and heat embossed using Recollections’ Ruby embossing powder.
Once the paper cooled, I used the medium sized brush stroke in the SSS’s ‘Brush Stroke Messages’ stamp set. Using Catherine Pooler’s Rockin Red dye ink, I stamped the image twice on either side of embossed Maple Leaf.
I trimmed the panel down slightly and voila!
Featuring:
– Simon Says Stamp’s ‘Fractile Leaves’ stamp set
– Simon Says Stamp’s ‘Brush Stroke Messages’ stamp set
-Catherine Pooler Dye Inks
– Tsukineko’s Versamark Ink
– Recollections’ ‘Ruby’ Tinsel Embossing powder
Another quick and simple card to celebrate Canada Day… In reverse. Pretty much all of the colours are in reversed.
This time I used Flora and Fauna’s ‘Texture 7’ stamp set. I stamped using SSS ‘Schoolhouse Red’ Dye Ink and then again below. I did need to uae my MISTI to stamp about 3 times to get the coverage I was looking for.
I prepped my card panel using my anti-static bag and heat embossed the maple leaf image with Brutus Monroe’s ‘Alabaster White’ Embossing powder.
I trimmed the panel down to approximately 3.75″x5″ and adherrd it to a panel of SSS Schoolhouse Red cardstock measuring approximately 4×5.25″ to allow for a small border of red. I then attached everything to a card base.. Overall card measures 4.25×5.5″…and I’m done!
